These paintings are created in Maine, about Maine by a Maine artist.  Some are coastal from Lubec to Cape Elizabeth, many were done in the interior from the lakes around Millinocket and Mt.Katahdin to the lakes around Rangley and Sugarloaf Mt.,  where I live and work .  I am fond of bogs and wetlands which are abundant in Maine. Having been a year round resident since birth I am familiar with Maine in all her glory and in all her moods.  There is nothing as unpredictable and often spectacular as Maine weather.  Painting "alla-prima"  is sometimes a real challenge, from the bugs in your paint to having your canvas ripped off it's easel by wind and slapped into the surrounding landscape.  Usually the results are well worth the effort.
    My work is crusty in surface and crosses the boundary from impressionistic to expressionistic in method.  I use the very best of materials to insure light fastness and archival quality.  Since digital photographs do not do justice to paintings I am willing to guarantee your pleasure for fifteen (15) days after you receive your painting.  If you decide during that time that the painting is not right for you I will refund your money, or credit your card, as soon as I get it back in good condition.
